Bridging community needs & strategic policing for a Western Ontario Police Services Board

Challenge

In 2023, a Police Services Board engaged StrategyCorp to develop its 2024–2027 Strategic Plan—a forward-looking, community-informed roadmap to strengthen trust, align priorities, and address emerging policing challenges. The Board sought a clear, actionable framework that reflected evolving community expectations and operational realities.

Strategy

StrategyCorp led a six-month strategic planning process combining internal consultation, external engagement, and analytical rigor. The team conducted interviews with Board members, senior police leadership, municipal officials, and community stakeholders. Broader input was gathered through surveys and pop-up events, while SWOT and PESTEL analyses identified key focus areas. Four workshops with the Board and Service refined and validated the strategic priorities to ensure shared ownership.

Outcome

Approved in December 2023, the 2024–2027 Strategic Plan established a unified vision for modern, accountable, and community-focused policing. The plan now guides decision-making, resource allocation, and engagement across the organization.
