Strategic Challenge
Austrian-based Therme Group is the world leader creating urban wellness destinations; it turned to StrategyCorp to guide its entry into the North American market, entering the Ontario government’s global competition to select partners for the redevelopment of Ontario Place.
Our Approach
StrategyCorp provided strategic communications counsel to Therme Group as the company evolved its designs for the Canadian market and submitted a comprehensive bid to the Ontario Place redevelopment competition. After being selected from over 30 competing bids, Therme turned to StrategyCorp to design a public relations strategy for the formal announcement of it being selected by the Ontario government. The integrated communications plan used a broad array of public relations activities to introduce Therme and its plans for Ontario Place to Ontario’s 14 million residents.
Outcome
The Ontario Place announcement in July 2021 unveiled Therme’s plans for a family-friendly destination and large urban park for the West Island of Ontario Place to overwhelmingly positive news. StrategyCorp continues to work with Therme Canada as it advances its plans forward to an expected start of construction in 2024.
