Indigenous Activism
Robert (Bob) is a practicing lawyer and constitutional expert specializing in First Nations and Aboriginal rights and title issues. He actively represents client Nations and other Indigenous groups, principally in BC and Alberta. He is currently advising on a major land and title matter that he believes will affect landmark changes to the Indian Act and how Canada fulfills its UNDRIP commitments.
Bob attended the University of Alberta where he obtained his B.A. (Honours Philosophy), LL.B., and M.A. (Philosophy). Since being called to the Alberta Bar in 1987, Bob has authored and published numerous scholarly papers on a wide variety of subjects including treaty rights, land claims, and matters concerning taxes and finances relating to Indigenous peoples. Bob is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Morrow Prize in Jurisprudence.
