Matt Davies

Matt is a highly respected visionary and thought leader. He brings over 30 years of experience as a strategic management consultant and a technology and cybersecurity expert. Matt understands the importance of developing business strategies that support organic growth, leveraging partnerships, and growth through acquisitions while managing digital transformation and technology-related risks. Matt is passionate about building innovative cultures and attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. 

Matt is the former Chief Technology Officer for the Government of Canada (Shared Services Canada). During his time at Shared Services Canada, he provided executive leadership for modernizing the information technology infrastructure for 45 Government of Canada’s mandated partner departments and agencies. He was also responsible for the implementation of emerging and transformative technologies.  

He regularly serves as a keynote speaker and panellist, sharing his valuable insights and expertise on future trends, strategy, digital transformation, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and sustainability with audiences. He is a recognized innovator, having received the prestigious Top 50 Government Innovators award and a global CCISO Hall of Fame Runner-Up award in 2023. Matt also received the CCISO Award at the 2020 CISO Forum Canada for his outstanding contributions to cybersecurity in Canada.  

Matt is a graduate of the University of Ottawa and has completed Executive Education Programs at the Tuck School of Business and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has also obtained the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight program from Carnegie Mellon University and more recently a certificate in Sustainability Leadership from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.  

Matt is also a Chartered Director and currently serves as a board member for the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Hydro Ottawa, and the Meridian Credit Union.
