Mark Taylor

Resource Development

Mark Taylor is a Senior Advisor supporting StrategyCorp’s municipal, public affairs, and management consulting teams. Based in Ottawa, he brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience across the non-profit, public, and private sectors.

Before joining StrategyCorp, Mark was Vice President, Resource Development at United Way East Ontario, where he led a multidisciplinary team responsible for raising more than $24 million annually across Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Renfrew, and Lanark Counties. He advised the CEO and Board and led strategy across fundraising, corporate partnerships, donor stewardship, and government relations.

Mark served eight years on Ottawa City Council, including four years as Deputy Mayor. He chaired the Community and Protective Services Committee, providing oversight of by-law and licensing, emergency and protective services, housing, recreation, long-term care, and social services. He also served as Special Liaison for Housing and Homelessness and was a City negotiator on the 100-Day Working Group that resolved the western LRT alignment with the National Capital Commission.

Mark is a former Board Treasurer of the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa and former Director of the YMCA-YWCA of the National Capital Region, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario, and Ottawa Community Housing. He also chaired AMO’s Task Force on Health and served on Ontario’s Emergency Task Force on the Opioid Crisis.

Mark holds an Executive MBA from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management.
