Ken Deane
Healthcare Governance
Ken is a seasoned healthcare executive with extensive leadership experience across hospitals, government, and health agencies. He has held numerous leadership roles, including as Shared Chief Operating Officer at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care; President and CEO at St Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, and Hôtel-Dieu Grace Hospital; as Vice President and CFO at Hamilton Health Sciences; and as Vice President Finance and Corporate Services at St. Boniface General Hospital. Known for leading complex organizational transformations under provincial oversight, he has restored stability, strengthened accountability, and fostered cultures of collaboration and safety in challenging environments.
His public sector leadership service includes work as Assistant Deputy Minister of Health System Accountability and Performance at Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, where he developed and implemented a province-wide performance management framework for Local Health Integration Networks. He has served on provincial task forces and advisory bodies, including as Chair of Ontario’s Emergency Department and Ambulance Quality Implementation Committee and the Pediatric Critical Care Network.
Ken remains active in public service, where he serves in governance and advisory roles, including for the Finance Committee of the Diocese of London, the Board of King’s University College, and the Governance Committee of the St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation. He is a past board member of Public Health Ontario, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, and other community and health service organizations. He holds an MBA, is a CPA (CGA), and a graduate of the ICD-Rotman Directors Education Program and has completed additional executive training at Rotman and Harvard Business School.
