Ed Huebert
Mining Governance
Ed is a respected leader in Canada’s mining industry, known for his expertise in executive leadership, environmental stewardship, and collaborative engagement with government and Indigenous communities.
With over 25 years of experience, he has held key roles including CEO and President of Canadian Gold Corp, Director of Environmental and Government Affairs at Golden Predator, and Senior Manager at DeBeers Canada. His work has contributed to major projects like the Gahcho Kue and Snap Lake Diamond Mines. He has also served in government roles such as Senior Mining Advisor to Manitoba’s Economic Development Board and Executive Director of Business Development for the Manitoba Mines Department.
In addition to his industry roles, Ed was Yukon’s Deputy Minister of Environment, overseeing land claims and environmental assessments. He has held leadership positions with the Mining Association of Manitoba and served on national committees including the Mining Association of Canada and PDAC.
Academically, he holds a Master’s in Natural Resources Management from the University of Manitoba and pursued Ph.D. studies in mineral economics at UBC. Ed has lived across Canada—from Winnipeg to Whitehorse, Vancouver, Yellowknife, and Ottawa—and continues to support junior mining companies and First Nations through his consulting practice.
