Canada’s New Indo-Pacific Strategy

The Government of Canada released its highly anticipated Indo-Pacific Strategy on November 27. The Strategy identifies five specific objectives and commits to making investments of $2.3 billion over the next five years. Dubbed a “generational response” to the rising influence of the Indo-Pacific region, the Strategy will shape Canada’s diplomatic and commercial approach to this part of the world.

But what does an Indo-Pacific Strategy actually mean for Canada? What should Canadian businesses operating in the region or looking to export there know about the Strategy?
