Susan Ong
Consultant

Susan is a Consultant in StrategyCorp’s Government Relations practice.
Prior to joining StrategyCorp, Susan had a wide and varied career in Canada, Australia, and the United States across the federal, municipal, diplomatic and nonprofit sectors.
At the City of Ottawa, Susan was a policy advisor to Councillor Rawlson King. She led the planning and development files within the office, working with community stakeholders and city staff to articulate vision on the Growth Management Strategy, the New Official Plan and specific development files. She was instrumental to the establishment of the Anti-Racism Secretariat, which was a combined community effort led by the Councillor. With the Economic Development team, she presented to committee about rural broadband internet connectivity and subsequently worked on the ByWard Market Strategic Alignment initiative. In her post-City role as an Inclusion Strategist at QuakeLab Inc., Susan created new policies and strategies for national non-profit organisations and municipalities and facilitated workshops with clients focused on embedding equity as a technical skill.
Prior to relocating to North America, Susan was federal civil servant in Australia. Among the different roles she had, her career highlights included being the departmental liaison to the Office of the Minister for Multicultural Affairs at Parliament House in Canberra and her year-long deployment to the Christmas Island Immigration Detention Centre. Her wide and varied experience across different fields, countries and industries means she examines problems differently to seek creative and different solutions.
Susan has a Master of Administrative Law and Policy and a Bachelor of Economic and Social Sciences from the University of Sydney.
