As the former Executive Lead of the University of Guelph Humber Brampton Partnership and Senior Vice President at Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning (Humber), Rani orchestrated strategic industry alliances, spearheaded the first fundraising campaign, and diversified revenue streams, propelling growth, educational innovation, and collaboration. Notably, her leadership facilitated a doubling of physical capacity and the implementation of sustainable practices, earning accolades such as STARS silver and LEED Gold certifications.
Prior to her tenure in Humber, Rani held pivotal roles at the Peel District School Board (PDSB) and Neste Resins. At PDSB she managed a $1 billion budget and orchestrated a landmark $450 million debenture issue to support capital expansion. Her strategic acumen and collaborative approach were instrumental in navigating union negotiations, fostering stakeholder engagement, and implementing innovative financial strategies. At Neste Resins she was responsible for North American finance and tax areas, led the development and implementation of a shared service centre and was a key member on the mergers and acquisitions team.
Beyond her professional achievements, Rani is deeply committed to community engagement and international development. She has and continues to serve on numerous boards, including the Ontario Financing Authority and World University Service of Canada, leveraging her interest in board governance and leadership locally and globally. Rani’s academic credentials include a FCPA/FCMA, Chartered Director and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Economics.
