Attracting investment will be critical to Canada’s economic recovery in a post-pandemic world. The StrategyCorp Institute’s white paper, Attracting 21st Century Investment: A Blueprint for the Creation of Invest Ontario and Invest Alberta focuses on the commitments of the Ontario and Alberta governments to establish new investment attraction agencies as part of their post-pandemic recovery plans. The paper is authored by Mitchell Davidson of the StrategyCorp Institute and published by Ontario 360, an evidence based think-tank housed within the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy.
The paper identifies key policy and operational considerations for Invest Ontario and Invest Alberta. It identifies four key factors that both agencies should bear in mind, specifically: a clear mandate; the right personnel; appropriate accountability and transparency; and policy flexibility.
