Shiv Ruparell is an Associate in StrategyCorp’s Public Affairs and Management Consulting practices. Since joining the firm, Shiv has worked with clients in a range of industries from healthcare to education, with a particular emphasis on Canada’s energy sector. He is also a regular contributor to the StrategyCorp Institute of Public Policy and Economy.
Previously, Shiv worked as a research analyst for Greenmantle, a macroeconomic and geopolitical advisory firm, in London and New York. He has also worked on successful political campaigns at the municipal level in Calgary and at the provincial level in Alberta. Additionally, Shiv served as a trade and energy analyst at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and as a political analyst at the Washington Bureau of the Alberta Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
Shiv recently graduated as a Tananbaum Fellow from Vassar College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, International Studies, and French & Francophone Studies. He also completed Vassar’s dual program with the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (SciencesPo Paris) in France, where he specialized in EU political economy. At Vassar, Shiv worked as a Teaching Assistant in the International Studies program and served as the department’s Senior Intern, a position awarded to the program’s highest-performing student. Shiv was also a member of the Varsity Men’s Squash Team, captain of the Model UN team, and Senior VP of the Vassar International Students Association.
Outside of work, Shiv is a passionate volunteer and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, his work for which led to him receiving the Premier’s Citizenship Award in 2015 and the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Citizenship Medal in 2016. He is bilingual in French and English.
