David Szwarc
Municipal & Provincial
David Szwarc is a Senior Advisor at StrategyCorp. He is an experienced executive who has provided leadership in municipal and provincial government settings and has a track record of innovation in public service delivery; managing complex organizational issues and business relationships; successful issue resolution; sound business planning and budget management; and engaging employees in meeting organizational objectives within dynamic political environments.
David is a Distinguished Fellow with the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University. He has held positions as Chief Administrative Officer, Commissioner and Director with the Regional Municipality of Peel; Community Services Manager with the Province of Ontario and Director with the Regional Municipality of Halton. He is a guest lecturer in the MPA programs at the School of Public Policy, University of Toronto and School of Policy Studies, Queen’s University.
David holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto and an Executive Certificate in Public Leadership from Harvard University.
He has received recognition for his work including an IPAC Public Sector Leadership Award (Gold), the Institute for Citizen-Centred Service (ICCS) 2012 Heintzman Leadership Award for the promotion of citizen-centred service within the Canadian public sector, and the Rotary International Centennial Service Award for Professional Excellence, in recognition of “professional achievement, demonstrated high ethical standards, community and vocational service.”
