Eric Johnson is a Senior Consultant with StrategyCorp, bringing over a decade of political, public service and private sector knowledge in government and stakeholder relations.
Eric’s extensive experience, at both the political and bureaucratic levels of government, give him a unique perspective. Prior to joining StrategyCorp, Eric was the Director of Alberta-Federal Relations for the Government of Alberta’s liaison office in Ottawa. During his tenure with the Government of Alberta, he worked closely with political and bureaucratic officials in Ottawa and Alberta to advance the province’s interests. Specifically, he worked in the following key policy areas: natural resource development, transportation and infrastructure, environment, health, labour, and Aboriginal relations. Eric was also a key figure in the development and implementation of the Government of Alberta Market Access Strategy, where he worked to expand Alberta’s multi-lateral and bi-lateral trade partnerships.
From 2006 until 2011, Eric worked on Parliament Hill for the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of National Defence. He also served as Chief of Staff to Senator Fred J. Dickson. As a result of this experience, Eric has a comprehensive understanding of the machinery of government and intergovernmental relations.
Outside of politics, Eric served as Director, Corporate Affairs for the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON). During his tenure at VON, and as a member of the senior management team, he helped lead the restructuring of the organization and managed the development of its new strategic and business plans.
Eric was educated at the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. Currently, Eric serves on the board of Lymphoma Canada.
